GRAPHIC DESIGN

You designed our logo – do you do layouts for letterhead and business cards?

Yes, we do.  We can offer you several different options on collateral materials such as letterhead, business cards, envelopes, and marketing materials.

What is your hourly rate for design?

Straight design runs $45 per hour but there are ways to cut your costs. If the project includes signage, often times the cost of the design end of things is less.

We also bid whole jobs instead of doing an hourly rate. This can be beneficial for you then know your end cost instead of it being an open ended project.

Branding. Is this something you can help with?

Yes, we can help with your branding. Branding consists of developing your company's image and message and then consistantly spreading that across many platforms. From your print media to your video, web, signage, advertisements, etc.

Can you oversee the printing of our project?

We often oversee printing projects that require checking proofs and press checks. Why take a chance of your project not being up to snuff. Let us worry about the small stuff while you do what it is that you do best.

We need a new brochure but we don't have the pictures that we need. Do you have a photographer that can shoot photos for us?

Yes. We have a photographer that can shoot product (including food), location shots along with interior and exterior architecture. Photos are in digital format and can be provided on a disk for future use.

I need a logo and I’m not sure what I want.  How does this work?

First off, relax.  What is the most important thing in developing a logo?  It is knowing your message and that is where we begin

We first send you a questionnaire that helps you define what you are looking for.  This permits us a great deal of insight to your core message.

Depending on how we approach it, we usually develop 2-3 initial concepts.  From those we ask feedback and the process continues until we have a logo that speaks your message through style, color, weight, and clarity.

SIGNS & DISPLAY

What makes Roday different than other sign companies?

Our project managers are not only graphic designers, they also have hands on experience in sign fabrication and installation.  This permits them to design signage that is consistently the right product for the desired end result.

So often a designer comes up with a concept but really has no idea how would be built.  Our designers not only understand how it would be built, the materials and attachments to be used but could actually build it themselves. This gives our clients a huge leg up with fewer problems.  We make it easy for them.

Is there a way I can get what I want but for a better price?

Yes, in fact there are several ways.  First, let’s be clear on what makes up price.  Materials and processes.  Whenever materials or processes change, so does pricing.  Roday prides itself on being a solution oriented team that is extremely innovative.  Ask for options that can lower your pricing.

Provide good information.  If you need a sign for a couple of years or you need a long term exterior sign, let us know that.  We then would quote materials that best suit the final use.

Give us a budget.  I know, a lot of people do not want to do that because they figure we will spend every last penny but that is not the case.  By identifying your budget you permit us to provide you with the best possible product that meets your needs but also stays within that budget.

Why is some of your pricing higher than other sign companies?

It is a matter materials and processes.  For example, you call one company for a quote on an a-board (sandwich board) and their price is $110.  You call another place and the cost is $225.  Why would you EVER buy a $225 a-board when you can get one for $110?   What makes the difference in cost?

Our standard is ½” MDO.  This is not shop grade MDO but sign grade and that does make a difference in cost and also in final appearance. We also do not digitally print them on low quality.

We do, though use a lower grade printing substrate – one that lasts 24 months or so with a UV lam on the top – like you are going to use an a-board for five years?  It will be stolen before then so why use a high end substrate?  This permits us to do very nice a-boards but without the high cost.  No, our a-boards are not $110 but no where close to the top end and the final products says a lot about the image you are trying to portray.

Do you manufacture signs designed by outside design firms?

Yes, we do. We have worked with many design firms, both big and small.  We first develop fabrication drawings which turn the conceptual idea of the designer to a workable fabrication solution.

We coordinate with other vendors, when needed, to ensure a smooth installation.

If I don’t have a design and I need a sign, how much is it going to cost to get one done?

There is a difference between a full-blown design and a simple layout.  Often times you can get simple layouts for $25.  Give us a call or email us to find out if what you are needing can fall into that category.

Will you match a competitors bid?

Yes, we will. Provide us a copy of another sign company's quote and we will not only meet it, we will beat it by at least 2%.

What is the best option for putting our corporate logo on the wall behind the receptionist’s desk?

There is no “one” good answer to that.  It is all a matter of image and the budget you have to spend.  Here are some options…

Solid aluminum with several different finishes that can mimic bronze or brass.

Cor Ten steel that can be left black or accelerated finishes that mimic rust.

PVC sheeting (from 1/8” to ½”) painted to match your corporate colors.  Or sheeting with a metal laminate face.

Acrylic of almost any thickness; both painted, left bare, or back painted that provides a delicious mixture of depth and color

If you are on a tight budget, there are options that are inexpensive but that can provide an upscale image.  Call us or email us with your logo and your budget and let us provide you with the biggest bang for the buck. Like we always say, you may have to be frugal, but that is no reason to have anything but fabulous!

What is a digitally printed banner?

The banner material is digitally printed on white vinyl.  This means that not only can you have copy in any color, you can integrate full color photos, graphics, or copy.

The city says I need a permit for a sign.  How? Why? What? Etc.

All cities have a sign code and any sign erected within city limits must conform to that code.  Saying that, the code defines what you can and cannot do with a sign.  For example, you may be limited to the size of the sign.  You may be limited to the height or the setback.

The first step is to call the planning and development department and ask for whomever handles sign permits.  Provide them the address of where the sign is to be erected and they will provide you with the guidelines.

I have a question about ADA signs.  Can you help?

Absolutely.  We often offer direction and requirements free of charge.  If you have a question, give us a call and we can direct you or answer you directly. You can also e-mail us at service@roday.com with your questions.

My aboards keep getting stolen.  How do I stop it?

If someone really wants to steal something like an aboard, you cannot stop them.  We offer drilled holed so that signs can be chained up.  It often deters thieves, for they like the easy target.

The housing market is really tight and I need some cheap signs for a sales office.  Can that be done?

Cheap is in the eyes of the beholder and what we do is create signs and displays that look fabulous but do not carry a high price tag.  We work in all of Western Washington so give us a call to see how we can transform your space into an effective (cost) and targeted space.

WEB RELATED QUESTIONS

I need a website and I’m wondering what the cost is.  I know some companies offer websites for $99.  Do you?

No, we do not.  Remember that you do get what you pay for.  We do not do websites that cost thousands and thousands of dollars.  We do targeted websites that reach your target audience.  These websites are focused and are responsible for bringing qualified candidates to our clients.

Roday offers a wide range of services for websites and splash pages that are affordable and most definitely competitive.  The websites that we do have no strings attached and no hidden fees.

I need an animated banner ad.  Is that something you do?

Yes.  Simple banner ads are inexpensive and effective.  Call us or email us to find out what we can do for you.

I need a database driven website in asp or php.  Can you help?

Yes and no.  We do not do asp or php in-house but we do have valuable partners that provide us with this type of coding.

What is needed to have my own domain?

The first step is to decide on the name you want and then have some back-up names in case what you want is not available. One of the best places to find out if the domain you want is available is to head to Network Solutions. There you can type in up to 10 different desired domain names at a time.

Once you find a name that is available, you then have to "park" it somewhere. If you do not have an place to do that, Network Solutions is a good place to go. They are solid.

That's it -- that is all there is to it.
